Dr. Michael J. Busuito has over 34 years of experience in the practice of plastic and cosmetic surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Busuito received his M.D. degree from the Wayne State University(WSU) School of Medicine where he completed residencies in general surgery and plastic surgery. He is a multiyear Hour Detroit magazine Top Doc and has received many honors and awards for his teaching, publications and his charitable work. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the WSU School of Medicine and is a statewide elected member of the WSU Board of Governors. Dr. Busuito received the WSU School of Medicine Distinguished Alumni Award in 2019 and has been honored as a Detroit News Michiganian of the Year. Dr. Busuito is co-founder of Operation KINDNESS, a charitable organization that provides surgical services to children around the world who are afflicted with disabling deformities. He treats cleft lips and palates, burns, tumors, congenital deformities and many other conditions that he encounters. Dr. Busuito has provided over two thousand procedures free of charge to children in foreign lands who live in poverty. Dr. Busuito has six children and three grandchildren. His daughter, Dr. Christina Busuito, has joined him as a partner in the group practice of Somerset Plastic Surgery Professional Memberships:
